Travel is one kind of passion for many. Having some fresh air in between those daily busy schedules is a basic requirement for a healthy lifestyle. Hence, we keep looking for some good spots or tourist places where we can invest our time. The climate and weather also makes a huge impact on our travel interest. Because in India or abroad we find our places that might suit our climate choice. In summer, most of the Indian travellers will to move towards Kashmir or Sikkim, Shilong or Arunachal Pradesh etc. Mostly, travellers do like the winter season and enjoy their travelling in cold places. But, there are some other kinds of people whos taste of travel completely relay on their nature of exploration. Like me, I do like to travel to all those historical places that contain a lot to know the history. The sculptures, broken buildings, temples and many more things attract me not only as tourist spots but also as some adventurous opportunities. There are plenty of tourist spots and spiritual places like temple, masjid, church etc in the north east state Tripura. Each spot is keeping its own story. Some are very popular and some stories are still folded. We started our journey from the capital Agartala towards Melaghar. Just to enquire some hidden stories about a newly built temple this is named as VIRAMMA KALI TEMPLE. The temple is built on the pattern of south Indian culture which is the most important factor of this temple that attracts the tourists like me. The temple is located at Rangamura, Melaghar. The location is exactly 52km away from capital Agartala.

Formation

In 2015 a renowned engineer took the initiative to establish Viramma devi’s idol in Tripura. Hence, he built this temple. His name is T.Viramuni. He belongs to the south Indian state Tamilnadu. There was a rumour that Viramma kali devi’s idol was found inside the nearby water palace Neermahal during some construction. But the priest of this temple has denied that. He disclosed the fact saying that devi’s idol was brought from Tamilnadu by T.Viramuni, the founder of VIRAMMA KALI TEMPLE.

History

One day T.Viramuni visited Tripura’s oldest water palace Neermahal, made by Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur to perform some constructional works inside the palace. During her stay in Tripura, devi Viramma came to her dreams and ordered him to establish a temple of Goddess Viramma. He also stated that, Goddess Viramma was present and worshipped here in Tripura 5000 years ago. Since then, T,Viramuni started working on the formation of such a beautiful temple. People have a strong believe that goddess viramma is an awakened devi. She never disappoints her devotees.

Mystery

The temple is surrounded by many sculptures of god and goddesses. Every sculpture has a different name , different believe. But the most shocking sculpture was Goddess Piriyachi Kali. At the botton of  this idol, there is a notice board “strictly prohibited clicking pictures” written on that . This Piriyachi Kali’s form was terrible. Clicking pictures of this statue might cause severe harms. Keeping this in mind, this precaution has been taken here. The priest of this temple has also stated that, many tourists tried to click pictures of this sculpture but at the mean time either their camera or mobile phone got turned off or crashed. Though, we didn’t take the risk to try this by our self. But, the local people have witnessed such incidents many times, they said.

On the other hand, some people claim that all these statements are completely false as they themselves have tried many times to click the image of the idol and their devices have not suffered any damage. So some consider it just superstition. Whatever may be the reality, but the miraculous grace of the mother in this temple cannot be denied. When you come to this temple, you will understand why I talked about miraculous powers. Generally, this temple is a bit far away so there is not much crowd of devotees. However, at a special time of the year, Maha Yagya is organized in this temple. And it can be seen the crowd of countless people. Although the construction work of this temple, built on the pattern of South Indian culture, is not complete. However, the work done so far has shaped the temple in the style of South India and all the work done inside and outside the temple depicts the image of the South Goddess. The name of Bhiramma Kali temple is also pronounced in southern language. The directors of this temple, which is built with complete South Indian culture, are not South Indian. They are our Bengalis of Tripura. Moreover, the development of a tourist center in any one place gives some opportunities to the people in the vicinity and in terms of earning money. So many locals are sitting in the open ground outside this temple with their small khat shops. From the first visit, we received immense support and love from the locals. First time visitors may have some trouble finding the road leading to the temple. Since it is a few miles away from the main road, it is much inland. But with the help of locals you will reach the right temple. That’s what we did in the first round. However, in this dot-com era, the device you have in your hand will get you anywhere. However, following eyewitnesses is still the most reliable way to arrive at the exact destination address. Viramma Kali Mandir has a special belief that if a couple prays for a child to the mother in this temple, then the mother surely fulfills their wish. However, we do not know how true this is. But the priest said so. Now, all these give a clear idea about this holy place where Goddess Veerma Kali is being worshiped since 2015. Hope you will also like to visit this place. This article is about sharing my experience of visiting Veerama Kali Temple. Hope I could give enough information about this place to make you want to visit this place at least once
